I drive about 240km's a day to and from work. (which accounts for my XR being 4 weeks old and having 4000 on the clock already) The only time i truely get to 'enjoy' my 270kw ute is at the half way point in my journey, i pull into a servo (thats in a 100 zone) have a smoke and carry on. But as i pull out....and get back to highway speed, thats the only time i can truely boot it and have my $45,000 investment gentle cup my balls and send my chest through the seat.
I dont agree with 'hooning', i dont agree with speeding through school zones, im not a child killer, I dont support drug use, abuse, crime or murder. Im a law abiding citizen. I pay my taxes and i pay my bills. Yet a little man in a car with red and blue lights treats me like i've just invaded Poland? And people actually support giving these people the right 'at the officers discression' to confiscate and crush peoples cars? :| |

to the guys who think idling at 0 Km/h doesn't affect your mileage, please think a little bit more before you reply.

but that's just my opinion. i'd be cracking the sads if i got pulled over for taking off sideways, say, on the warrego hwy with no cars in sight for 1km and no houses around for 10km. how does that affect anyone? but that's the thing, if you get caught out in the bush you'd want to hope you get a cop that has been in the job long enough to know that he should just let you off with a warning. it is the luck of the draw though... who you end up with pulling you over. it's usually the fresh lot that will book you for anything. |

Out on the highways, coppers can pull you up, just because they're bored and just want a chat. Had that happen a number of times. They haven't even wanted to see my licence, let alone check if the car is registered. So strike that comment out |

It also may affect your wife, kids, mother, father or any of family/friends not everyone can handle a car that has lost traction and at some point it will get the better of everyone (ie peter brock) many more . Thae fact of the matter is there is burnout comps ,track days ,drag meets there a places to do this sort of stuff in the resonable safe manner. A country road does not qualify. I love a good burnout , i love speed but do the crime do the time . simply put the road is not a playground at all. |

It seems to me that without even reading a word I have written, You've worked out what I really meant, and you've worked out that I don't know what a road test consists of. See if you can work this one out svo....... |

I don't like the way you're suggesting to test drive a car. It's that simple. If you want to test drive a car in the manner you suggest, knock your self out. Just hope the owner is just as nice as me. As for the rest of my comments, it's a friendly forum so I'll leave it there |
