I had a B4, sold it to buy a new car, as Subaru's can be costly to fix and I needed a new car warranty. B4 was a great car, and for 190kw pretty economical on fuel. A tune should make it better again.
If your prepared for higher parts costs I'd recomment Subaru. Buy a new one then 98 though. $25k can buy you a immac B4 EDIT: Picked 07 Focus in the poll. |

I had an '06 focus for the missus, and an 01 outback h6 (liberty 3.0r),and we kept the outback.
The handling for somthing relitivly high is awesome. To all those saying the focus is faster, sorry but the 2.0 duratec is a slug, the zetec may be a different story but so is the b4.

I'd say you can't go wrong with either personally. Focus are nice and the Liberty is also. But as been told, Subaru are rip off merchants. |

I was going to suggest an Outback too. Depends on whether you are looking to keep the car long term - eventual second car runabout.
I'd look into something like a 18 month old Mazda SP23 with the 2.3 from the Mazda6. Maybe even a Forrester GT or XT Absolutely nothing wrong with a new Focus Zetec. Just the sporty near new cars offer fun and reasonable resale for the same bucks. Practical performance. Things like used Xtrail are also in the same girl friendly price range. So are Audi S3, Golf. All of these are useful practical future Mum's car- for now, take the mates in style type cars. |

If you can get into an 04+ Liberty go for that. They are a nice package and are superbly engineered. Good for resale and reliability aswell. They are expensive to service though.
