Yes..... and Newscorp who brought it to its knees to get it to down to a price that AirNZ could pay. Re the "core airline policy" during the late 1990's where chunks of Ansett was sold off without any reinvestment into the company.

The govt didnt want Singapore Airlines to own it as it wouldve been a too big threat for Qantas.
