Default what to do in Melbourne on a friday night?

hey all..
due to me expanding my Xseries collection, i will be in melbourne tomorrow.
flying in in the morning, picking up the vee-hickle in the afternoon, and driving home to adelaide saturday.
so between say 6pm friday, and early saturday morning, i have to find something to do....
for a change i'm doing this trip by myself. if i was bringing someone with me, i'd probably go out drinking or something. but drinking by yourself is just, well, sad really lol.. i'm not really into the casino thing.. what else is there?

the other option is go to my hotel room (when i find one) and sleep..alot..

anyone got any suggestions?

cheers,
Phil
