On the subject of the launch affecting end speed, the data I've seen shows it has a surprisingly small affect. For example in my earlier post (3 pages back at 7:10 pm on 17/7) I mentioned the almost 2 tenth 400 metre time effect that a 2 tenth faster 0 - 40 time would have (12.84 down to 12.65 sec). However when I use the Racelogic software to calculate the end speed difference, it comes out at a miniscule 0.04 kmh. On the other hand not using enough revs or hitting the rev limiter (particularly in second and third) can have a significant effect on end speed. To make sure that my car used maximum revs , I drove it more aggressively than normal (harder acceleration, kickdown) for a while just before getting to the track. I wouldn't try driving manually, too hard to get the timing right. 2.1 and 11.7 are great times for just a tuned F6. |
