Man hypotheticals annoy me. You can never say how you would react in a situation you have never been in.

I would probably choose my wife (not that I'm married). My mum has already experienced what life has to offer and she has been successful in business, marriage and family. For me to be in a situation where I would have to choose between them, I could guarentee there would be extenuating circumstances; ie war or some which would dictate to me the decision I had to make.

That said my mum cared for me when I couldn't feed myself or wipe my own ****.

This is too hard to answer.
