Well as it turns out, the car is deffiniteley for real, and not only is it for real, but its a feature that FORD commissioned for themselfes.
The car in the vid is a 1993 MkVIII Lincoln concept car with a 4.6L V8. Ford commissioned Joalto Design Inc to develope the sliding door idea to help combat the size of the car and its ability to fit into tight parking spaces. The car never made it into production, and it was actualy ordered to be destroyed after ford scrapped the idea being unhappy with the design due to problems that it presented. somehow the car lived and the 14 Y/O leaking motored, scratched and dented, slightly reusted, and minorly damaged vehicle with only 1 working door recently found its way onto eBay aswell (where it didnt sell due to failure to meet its reserve price of over $20K USD). Turs out that the Ford lincoln wasnt the only one to experiment with engineous door designs either, as the BMW Z1 had similar plans too. Want proof?.... The VIN # is 1LNLM91V1PY768898 The concept also carries 4 US patents in relation to the door. 5524960, Sliding Automobile Door 4801172, Vehicle Closure 4940282, Chassis Frame for a Wheeled Motor Vehicle 5378036, Sliding Automobile Door. Now there is no question as to if it is real or fake. ITS REAL!
