Hey all..
Was just wondering about webcams.. I've never had much interest in them but the other half reckons she'd like one seeing as we live a few hours apart and she might be temp moving to NSW. Anyway I looked on the net but there is bugger all info on em. What I was wondering is that they all advertise streaming video, audio, blah blah, but does this actually work on a 56k connection? I mean the ones I've seen are quoted as being 640x480 but there is no way 56k could stream this. I'd imagine that even 340x240 odd would be borderline at best.. How do they work? Special software? Go to an IP? I know a fair bit about most things IT but not webcams.. Anyone got a wealth of knowledge they'd like to share? And ideally experience on a 56k connection, because we both won't have adsl at the same time to take advantage of the speed. Daniel..
