As we have a shed full of old fords at home I think it is time to buy our first new one for family transport and such. I live in the Warragul area and we have a local Ford dealer in town. Can anybody recommend a dealer in any part of the Gippsland region with a no nonsense, common sense sales person? Maybe it's an impossible request?
Thanks. |

interesting wording there bartaxr8, am I correct in thinking you hope to find a better dealer.
Is it necessary to buy local, buy from elsewhere then tell the business owner why, when in for its service.

You might travel to the next closest dealer but it could all part of the same company. |

I'll preface my comments by saying that I have never dealt with these guys for new cars, so I can't attest to what the new car purchasing experience is like, but I do know of people who only buy their vehicles from these guys. I get all of my Fords serviced here, even beyond the warranty period. They're not perfect, but they are a lot better than any other dealer I have dealt with.
Give Wilmour Motors in Maffra a go. They used to have the catch cry of "The little dealer with the big heart". A very small dealership, but run by locals who provide that 'rural' service. John is the owner. Nice guy and is passionate about Fords. Actually used to work for Ford at Broadmeadows before taking over the family business. I think the name of the new car salesman is Glenn. I've really only met him once when he picked up a car of mine from my house during lockdown last year to take it across to Maffra for a service (he lived around the corner from me), but he seems like a nice enough guy, too. If you look at the picture on their website, John is the guy with glasses in the middle of the picture. 'Glenn' is the third from the right. I appreciate that it is some distance from you, but they are pretty good to deal with. Certainly can't hurt to contact them and have a chat with them. Hope that is of some help.

Thanks for the recommendation mate. Haven't had a bad experience with anyone local, was just trying to find a good dealer without experiencing three or four bad ones to get there.
