hook it on your TV and FPS locked at 30-40 ,um youll just be lining Bills pockets for a outdated piece of junk thats been 5 years in making

Ill keep my force fed custom 6 speed gate shift ,FF wheel and pedals much more intense

Well here are my impressions so far on the xbox 360 I bought last night.
The console is really well thought out. Very sleek and modern look, love the wireless controllers.
The interface menu is pretty cool, alot better than the old one from the original xbox.
This is also definetly designed for online purpose as you can already download content readily straight away.

Now for the games.
All I can say is, HOLY ИИИИ!
Screenshots do not do them any justice.
Perfect Dark and Project Gotham Racing look absolutely jawdropping in motion.
Everything is high resolution and crisp, surfaces reflect, the speed at which the games move at is silky smooth.

Considering these are only launch games and dont use anywhere near the full capability of the machine, I reckon within a year or so we'll be seeing games with graphics close to Final Fantasy: Spirits Within CGI quality.

Who cares about PS3 for the time being. I will myself be buying it when they do arrive end of this year or next year. But for now, Xbox360 is definetly the most fun for playing games on.

couldn't agree more, but i don't own one at this stage. I saw gotham on a Kmart system yesterday and it was pretty sweet, the graphics were good, not FANTASTIC, but good, but the frame rate was sensational. Loved the lighting effects. Lot of people saying here 'i'm going to wait for the ps3' etc etc, i've been in IT for quite some time and that's always the going line.. if you keep waiting you'll never buy. BUY IT NOW, enjoy it!! If you want the PS3 as well, buy that too, flog the xbox at that time. Enjoy life now, instead of putting things off.

I had an xbox but sold it because i didn't play it enough. Mainly because my computer had far superior graphics, and the games didn't thrill me much. However, the graphics now are comparable to my computer (computer is prescott 3.2 single core, xbox360 is 3.2 triple core), and i have a widescreen tv, so i should be able to take good advantage of the quality. The tv isn't a plasma or lcd, but it should display it nicely anyway.

Games will yes indeed increase in programming wizardry, just like what happened with the PS2. When it was released, the graphics weren't anything thrilling in my opinion, but as time went on the programming skill increased and they made full use of the processor, made games similar in quality to the xbox1. Only thing i think should be far bigger on the 360 is the HDD. I mean, 20gig in 2006 ? Come on. I'm guessing they've kept it relatively small to make it harder for people to pirate games onto the drive, but it will still happen.

I'm going to wait a little while for the price to drop slightly, then i'll grab myself one. I also agree with the previous comments up there ^^ somewhere that it's more enjoyable lazing on a couch in the loungeroom playing a mindless game after work than sitting (even though i've got a comfy chair) at the computer trying to enjoy a relaxing game of GTA or something. More fun to play console games with mates too.

If anyone has problems with their 360, let us know too.. i'm sure they'll have bugs left right and centre for the initial release. (just like the BA) :P

Well I love the graphics , the system runs very hot IMO but hasen't frozen as yet the noe controllers are heaps better than XBOX 1 and speed is good ,can't wait till more games are released ,
this will keep the kids and me entertained for a while , well at least till PS3 is released
I Traded my PS2 (broken) and all my games in to get the 360 so the change over was only $99.00 the xtra controller and a game cost $200.00 ,games seem a bit pricey at the moment ,but im sure they will come down in time

My Ratting is as a console 9.5/10
Games available 4/10 ( need more to be released )
Accesories 6/10 ( need more available )

You rate the console 9.5 when it runs "very hot" ?? That's not a good sign.
They should have more games out, after all they went on sale a month before the console.. WTF was with that?
Hehe. just microsoft bashing.

just thought i'd let you all know it can now be done.
Its not a chip as such, its just a firmware upgrade which enables it to play all backup games. I had it done today, took about an hour. and creating your own backups seems pretty simple too.

borrowed a 360 from a friend recently....very nice bit of difference in pic quality..gameplay..etc

controlls i dont like but i m a fan of the original 'fat' xbox control that others hate

PS3 vs. Xbox 360.... the advantage PS2 had over xbox was the game released on each console..ps2 by far had better game..xbox had better graphics..gameplay

i think if the graphics..processing..storage..user friendlyness and well bascially both machines are too close to call..the PS3 wins because of the GT games
nothing will ever beat the PC EVER but you go to spend 400x the money

I picked a 360 up for myself, wired it up to the widescreen tv.. just a 76cm CRT tv but it's pretty nice. (panasonic). Just to test the thing out i wired it thought the front AV's on the tv. I bought PGR3 and Table Tennis Championship. It all seemed to work ok but the quality was pretty ordinary to say the least on the av inputs. I purchased the bundle that comes with the HDD, wireless controller and HD cables etc, so i wired it up with the HD cable this evening. Wired it into the back of the TV with the RGB inputs.. and the audio is going out via the optical socket on the HD cable of the XBOX, and being decoded through my 5.1 amp and system.

Looks FANTASTIC, sounds AWESOME.

I haven't played too much of PGR3, took a few cars for a spin but haven't got into it yet. Seems you can't do split screen on this ?? which is a bugger coz i bought a second wireless controller too. Looks as though you can do direct connect or xbox live.... ?

I am addicted to the table tennis game, can't stop playing it.

I must say i am impressed with the graphics, didn't expect it to look that good on my CRT TV. Game play is pretty good on the 2 games i have. Finish of the unit and controllers looks great. The wireless is seemless so far, haven't had any issues, and is a breeze to set up.

Verdict, they're not cheap at the moment but i'm very impressed with the package overall, and i've always favoured my PC setups over consoles.

Can't wait for the next GTA!!

yeah i bought my X360 a few months ago ... i didn't want to upgrade the PC becoz it would of costed a lot more.

i have found that PGR3 looks bloody fantastic ... the Shelby Cobra Concept i reckon does some pretty mad drifts.
i also have Call Of Duty 2 .. bout half way through veteran difficulty .. thats hard as hell. and the online multiplayer is heaps fun.

i'v also downloaded about 15 demo's and trailers..
fight night round 3 looks fantastic.
some otheres are average... as in the game play n all that.

a new game getting released is Lost Planet. this one looks awsome .. i downloaded the
demo to this one and i am definately gonna buy it when it comes out. I'd advise you to give it a go.

i also have a 80~cm crt tv and the graphics still look awsome.

anyone else have xbox live ?

Its a bugger to first work out, but you can play split screen. Go to the Playtime section and "Play on this Xbox" When the list comes up you need to press the X button I think which takes you to a screen where the second person can sign in to the xbox with their controller. Took me a little while to work out, I sure you can play up to 4 player on the same box.

Yeah I got live. Love Ghost Recon online, but only have 512/128 net connection, so have a few drop out problems (unless I play with aussie guys who host the game).
