Where do you park your car?
Is it near dense trees or gum trees? I have had one huntsman in my car and it was I had parked near a pretty dense tree. Other ways to keep them out is to regularly clean the interior and exterior. Yeah you're not the only one, Huntsmans freak me out.

Yeap, spiders in cars are a problem!!
Driving to melb from Albury one time when I was still on my Ps, pulled into the maccas on the freeway and went in the drive through. As i was ordering through the window, my brother pointed out that there was a huntsman on my seat just next to my shoulder..... well i absolutely crapped myself, stalled the car and jumped out... It dissapeared somewhere and we were holding up traffic so we decided to get our food then hunt for it in the carpark...I drive us up to the window to get the food and sure as ********** the spider re-appears...crawing up my seat and onto my damn knee.... managed to open the door and very panickly (even a word?) flick it out the door. Just very glad that happened while at maccas and not on the freeway... |

Huntsmans are awesome, mainly because they can't hurt you but are still freaky looking! I'd put it out of your mind, don't worry too much, and remember that with a spider in the car, you'll never have trouble with mozzies and flies again.

I'm really scared of spiders....and moths. I hope to god spiders don't evolve and grow wings.

Just remember peeps: if you leave them alone, they leave you alone. Poisonous spiders I would remove, only because they have a tendency to bite if you accidently brush them or knock them. A huntsman though I would "forget" as it's not worth tearing the car apart trying to find. He'll leave on his own once food runs out or he gets bored.

Keeping him out is probably quite easy....Getting him out in the first place is probably quite hard.

Despite its frightening appearance, the huntsman is actually a timid creature.

next time you see it just get ya misses to grab it ya big poof lol
avoid using a cockie bomb in your car, theyre designed for large voids like rooms or roof voids, using that in a small area like a car could play havok with electriconics and may actually be harmful to your health.

Huntsman's are cool.. It's the scary big black bastard's you've got to worry about.. Use to have a pet one living under the seat of my XA.. Tried killing him and gave up.. Policeman was searching my car one day, 'anything under the seat'.. Just my pet spider.. He laughed at me, then proceeded to stuff his hand into the biggest mankiest web known to man........ Poor bloke nearly fainted.. hehehe....

+1 - should this be the case, you may as well drive to the nearest nuclear power plant for a good dose of gamma rays, these things may be timid but they also have rather large fangs that they tend to use rather frequently. Aaargh - bloody big hairy things give me the creeps just thinking about them. I have used mortein in short bursts under the dash, under the seats etc closed the car up and waited with the mighty thong - usually worked. As to having only pot plants around the area where you park - try spraying every now and then something like an outdoor fogger, may help in getting the little creatures to move on over to the neighbours house. |

Might give this a go
Spider repellent spray, mix together 200mls of water, 10 ml's of alcohol (gin or vodka), 5 drops of eucalyptus oil and 5 drops of lavender oil, shake well and spray (note this will not kill the spiders, just repel them).
