Whats involved in setting up a small car club?

Myself and a few mates are interested in starting up a car club due to the fact of club reg, we can then have our own cruises instead of tacking onto other club events.

Seriously ..... with all the crap you have to go through, I am sure there is a small club out there you can join? Especially if you want to organise club regos.

I know thats not much help but to write what is involved will take a month of Sundays. Just organising the constitution is a pain for starters .....

There are many questions and associated paperwork that is involved in setting up a car club.

What state are you in?
What do you mean due to the fact of club reg?
Do you plan on being a registered and incorporated car club?
What will be the club's tax status?

If it is in regards to club regos the club has to be able to proves its been operating for a few years, depending on state before the RTA or other authorities will recognise the club. You can not start a club and instantly get club rego status.

That is alright mate.

You could always join a club that has the club rego status. $50 or $60 membership fee per annum and you save hundreds per vehicle. It is a good deal.

Might be worth mentioning to that you should check out the clubs constitution in regards to requirements to qualify for the club rego.

For example if you had a kent engined powered cortina and have supplemented it with a pinto that particular clubs registrar may not deem the vehicle suitable for club rego, defeating the point of joining the club.

The other thing to consider is you may be required to attend a regulation number of club outings, meetings and an agm, which can be be completly intolerable when you have people bickering over money and the simplest things such as the size of the badge on the club t-shirt. it just wasn't worth it!
