SBS now running TV adverts with the hosts of the new Aussie show. Not sure when it starts - but the UK show is on tonight.

Does anyone know any of the 3 new guys in the promotion photo and their background. I recall SBS inviting host applicants only a few months ago and any Joe Public with car knowledge could apply. No women I see.

Applied for the audience. Too bad it isn't the "real" top gear, still gonna be a lot of fun if I do get picked!

Is there any write ups or anything as to what they'll be reviewing in the first few episodes? Also is it the same guys that are responsible for the magazine?

I am not talking about Clarkson, May or Hammond. I mean who are the other 3 blokes in the promotion shot who I assume are going to be the Australian hosts - or do we get Clarkson, May or Hammond escaping the Pommy winter?

Yes, Those 3 blokes are the hosts of the upcoming Australian series. I think their names are Charlie Cox, Warren Brown and Steve Pizzati.

The one with the goatie/mustache was the cartoonist on 'difference of opinion' on the ABC. He doesn't really appeal to me as a host, but time will tell if he's up to it or not.

The guy with the long blonde hair looks like the dodgey builder (Oreilly) from 'Fawlty Towers' :P

Warren Brown is quite good in front of the camera (difference of opinion cartoonist). However I didn't find his jokes all that funny. As you say, time will tell.

This morning on the radio (Triple M in Melbourne) they announced that Top Gear Australia was due to start on TV in late September - during the news no less! Must be a slow news day or something...

If you have a look on the Top Gear website, it mentions that the first episode will be aired on Monday 29/9 at 7:30

It'll be interesting to see what Top Gear Australia is like. As far as I'm concerned, if this Aussie series isn't going to be as entertaining as the U.K. series, there's no point in it. If that is true and I sure hope not they should just leave it to other lame Australian car shows like The Car Show and Test Drive.

Hmm, does that mean they wont show Top Gear UK anymore on SBS or are they showing the UK one on a different night?

Probably show the last UK series after the Aus one has finished, I think they have now shown most of the older ones.
