I am painting the RX-7 in next week or so and am thinking about changing the colour scheme
Anyone got any ideas please? It is a dedicated track/circuit race car so I do not want street tuner or drift inspired paint schemes but am really open to creative race car ideas The last colour scheme was for my then 4 yo grandson but we may or may not repeat it. See pic of previous colour scheme at Oran Park Also a pic this week in Red/Black temp colours. Don't worry that it looks high at the moment. It will drop 2 or 3" when the 6 litre, 6 speed, tailshaft, interior, etc etc goes in Any ideas? ANY COLOURS Thanks Last edited by Walt Kowalski; 23-04-2010 at 08:35 PM. |

Green is supposedly a unlucky colour for race cars.Apparently it refers back to Lotus when Jim Clark was killed in formula one.

Thank you everyone
HOT Green and black has been the most popular colour scheme suggested in the FD forum as well. Looks hot at the moment but I am cautious about it because it is so hot at the moment. On a few years it will be “OLD” hat. I am similarly cautious about any currently fashionable colour scheme unless some paint shop wants to volunteer its sponsorship on a regular basis. I am thinking back to about 1990 when a panel beater out my way had a lime green 911. He was embarrassed about the colour and was thinking of getting it painted the Guards Red with Caramel leather that his shop was painting an old classic of mine. It’s not just the colour I am looking for but a whole race car colour scheme. I don’t mind pinching a scheme from some professional team (NO MAKE THAT “COMMERCIAL” TEAM) so keep them coming Thanks again Please note its actually a 6 litre V8 |

Go for a 911 RS theme, white with red or white with blue.

Also think about the paint scheme being easier and cheaper to repair and repaint should you be unlucky to have an 'off' on the track.
The terms 'easy' and 'cheap' are not usually used to describe motorsports! Lol, about green being unlucky. I have heard that for ages now.........
