Hows this for precious...
This bloke parks his car everyday across two spaces at Maxi supermarket in Upper Ferntree Gully...without fail...around 5pm when he does his shopping. The funny thing is... or it will be in a few days : is the parking ticket he will be issued... : (If only tickets could be issued for stupid number plates as well....he'd get another.)

i would do the same if i had that car...why risk parking normally and get ignorant/careless people dinting the cr*p out of it whilst opening their doors
i drove my old mans merc 4wd one day and parked it in the supermarket car park...after getting out and locking up, a VN commonwhore parks next to the 4wd with 3 little sH!TS in the back seat...one of them practically kiked their door open to get out car and made a nice dint in the R/H/rear merc door...what could i do? strangle the little brat? anyway...i still havent heard the end of it.

Yeah...thats a fair call...agree with you. But hey!! the amusing thing is the repetition involved...I mean...everyday...same place...same time...same car spaces... thats committment...

You have two choices
Park normally and have someone careless park next to you and put a dint in your car. Park across two paces and have someone deliberately park next to you and dint your car. |

That could actually be counterproductive. If the carpark was packed full, chances are that some frustrated person would key your car if it were parked across two bays.

That's spot on. A mate of mine at uni used to park well away from everyone else to nab the spot next to the carpark footpath. That way he could park right up on the line, and on one side there would be the walk way that was 2 metres wide and clearly marked with zebra paint and signed as "No Parking" and on the other there was heaps of room, enough so that even if a car swung the door open they would not hit his car. Well one day he returns to find that some tool parked in the walk way, soooo close to his car that he was not able to fit in between the cars to get in. He had to climb in from the passenger side to drive his car off. He left a message on the car that parked in the walkway that would have cost many thousands of dollars to repair. And it wasn't as if the car park was full either. Had the tool decided to drive to the last row of parking he could have got a regular park as the whole row of 30 spaces was still empty. |

I'd only make an exception if it was a weekend/show car and you had to make a stop somewhere, and you only took up two spaces that were away from other cars. Just because this guy drives a HSV (or if it was someone on here with a nice falc) doesn't mean he is above everyone else. Imagine if everyone who owned a nice car, or even just took pride in there car thought the same way..

I dont see all these nice cars taking up all the car parks everyday at every shopping centre so i wouldnt say its a big problem. I still think, if this was a Ford that was parked like this, then the thread starter wouldnt have started this thread.. |

I didn't say they were taking up all the car parks, I said imagine if they did. And as for this thread, the thread starter stated "This bloke parks his car everyday across two spaces at Maxi supermarket in Upper Ferntree Gully...without fail...around 5pm when he does his shopping.". Fair enough if it's a nice weekend car and it's only every so often, but everyday? Pft. I just think that parking like that invites more idiots and jealous folk to come and key/scratch/park next to the car because the owner thinks they have every right to, and that they're better (which they're not).

So? I park like that at work, in either car. I dont want some little brat/feral/ghetto rat dinting my car, If they cant find a park too bad. And if i am in a supermarket/shopping complex i always park away from others to avoid this...
Why should i have to pay to get my car fixed because of some inconsiderate ?

When I first got my ute I was doing the 2 bay thing, then someone squeezed next to me. So I thought park diagonal accross, and it works. But after a couple of times doing it I thought about it and decided I was more at risk of being keyed. So now I just park way the hell over there and walk.

I'd like to see two people with Smart Cars pull up alongside of the guy and park in the room left in those spaces.

People who park like that, regardless of the car, are selfish pricks in my opinion...if you dont want your car scratched or dented, dont park there...park somewhere else further away where there is more room/less cars...Thats a real pet hate of mine, morons who think they are higher up than everyone else...park like that, you deserve anything you get, the lines are there for a reason.

So instead of getting his ride damaged accidently, they will delibrately get a nice key or dint from some irate driver who can't find a park. Yeah I see how much better that is :
