Default Whats the name of this song??

hey guys and girls, i need some help.
there is a song they play on gold 104.3, i really wanna download it, but i dont know the name of it, or who sings it.
i can only remember a few words of it though, so here goes

(start line) Out here nothing changes, not in a hurry anyway................................

(during the song) They were standing on the shore one day, saw the white sails in the sun, they feel the end is near(??maybe)..........

tell me thats justified, someone here, someone like(??maybe)

sorry about the lack of content, but thats all i can remember :(

i thought it might have been by dire straights, cos the singer sounds the same, but i searched through most of thier songs but couldnt find it..

any info is much appreciated
cheers
scott

Out here nothin' changes, not in a hurry anyway
You feel the endlessness with the comin' of the light o' day
We're talkin' about a chosen place
You wouldn't sell it in a marketplace, well
Well just a minute now

Standing on solid rock
Standing on sacred ground
Living o-on borrowed ti-i-i-ime
And the winds of change are blowin' down the line
Right down the line

Round about the dawn o' time, When dreamin' all began
A croud o' people came
Well they were looking for their promised land
Were running from the heart of darkness
Searching for the heart o' light
Well it was their paradise

But they were standin' on - solid rock
Standing o-on sacred grou-ound
Living o-on borrowed ti-i-i-ime
And the winds of change were blowing cold that night
Oh

They were standin' on the shore one day, Saw the white sails in the sun
Wasn't long before they felt the sting, white man, white law, white gun
Don't tell me that it's justified, 'cause somewhere, someone lied
Yeah well someone lied, someone lied, genocide
Well someone lied, oh, ahh

And now you're standing on - solid rock
Standing o-on a sacred grou-ound
Living o-on borrowed ti-i-i-ime
And the winds of change are blowin' down the li-ine

Solid rock, Standing on sacred ground
Living o-on borrowed ti-i-i-ime
And the winds of change are blowing down the line
Solid rock, Standing o-on sacred grou-ound
Living o-on borrowed ti-i-i-ime
And the winds of change are blowing down the line
Oh-oh-oh no, NO-O

Yeah me too! Love that song. I always remember what Im doing when I those songs first came out... I get flashbacks when I hear them.

They dont play enough of that stuff on the radio stations here in SA. You either have SAFM which is poxy, teeny girl stuff with Mr Sebastian and all of those silly girls.... and then you really have MMM which is bogan heaven. Neither appeals to me - somewhere in the middle would be good.

Triple M rules!! I'm 27 and love my aussie rock'n'roll and this is the best station by far. Although on tues or wed nights when trple j play hard fast & loud is always a good listen, but not for everyone. I must admit radio stations fairly well scatter there songs thats why i gat an MP3 player and listen to what i want.

Mate I Agree with you there 100%. I love all that sort of music. Gold 104 is the ONLY station I listen to at work these days. The music is great unlike the modern pop rap and rnb that they play on the other rubbish stations, and I'm only 21!

anyone who wants to try to locate a song by title, band, album or ..... any part of the lyrics this is a good site

http://lyricsdot.com/index.html

I've used this site for years, 90% success rate, believe it or not I think it's Russian, but it works!!!!!!

Top Song. It's on one of my VB Slabs of Rock I think.
We have 4TO FM here. Townsville based station.
They play a little from Column A, and a little from Column B. Suits me to a tee!

Cheers

in melb, triple m (105.1fm) is good for very broad range of music played, where gold 104.3, which i have on permanently at work and in the car plays just the good old CLASSIC hits.

NORMXB----- thanks mate, that site is a ripper now i can find all the songs i like, but dont know the name

GTHOFAN , EB Pete , GRNKPR ,
Happy to be of help , I've used that site so much it's a wonder you can still read the print on it :hihi:

It's the only site I've ever found that will locate a song by a "section" of the lyrics , and I've got 25 - 30 lyric sites saved ( worth it's weight in gold to muso's as well ).

Make sure you list it in "Favorites"

Yeah I saw them at "Stop The Drop" Anti Nuke Gig, Myer Music Bowl in '82. Midnight Oil had top billing. Bands were Redgum, Goanna, Colin Hay (Men At Work) did a few acoustic numbers solo, INXS, and the Oils. Awesome day.

I'm pretty sure I was there as well. Peter Garret is MUCH more entertaining that Peter Costcutto!!!
