Default YEAH BABY 300c Aussie Police Car

Melbourne – Victoria Police has boosted their vehicle fleet and injected some ‘cool’ with the addition of Chrysler’s award-winning 300C, the vehicle that is currently dominating the upper large vehicle segment (under $100,000).

"This bold, powerful and capable vehicle is more than ready to help police officers go and get the bad guys!" said Gerry Jenkins, managing director for the Chrysler Group in Australia. “And with a comprehensive list of standard equipment and safety features the police will be doing it in style too,” he said.

Mr Guy Hungerford of Victoria Police Fleet Division said the 300C is proving extremely popular with the public. “There has been a positive reaction to this car, with its good looks and striking presence it turns a lot of heads and has some serious street cred. "When people see the 300C they just want to take a closer look and talk about it which helps to encourage positive interaction,” he said.

The fitting midnight blue 300C with its flashing lights and chequered decals is fully operational and will be used throughout Victoria in general police duties.“We are also using the 300C at police open days and high profile events like the 2006 GMC Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island,” said Hungerford.

“Victoria Police have trialled many vehicles in the past yet none have attracted the attention and interest of the 300C. Using this fantastic car is proving to be an enormous success,” he said. The public can next look forward to viewing the car at the Spring Racing Carnival.

They could do a re-make of the Blues Brothers, they have re-done just about every other movie form that era.

Any future "cop" film must have input from the Kings themselves, the Krispy Kremes......

Ah the pain when they set up not far from where I live/work

Ah yes, we need to win the public over with flashy cars. Why bother fixing the Police force when we can just blow money on cars?

Gotta admit it looks good though.

I think you'll find it has been 'donated' for a period of time by Chrysler.

whats the point?? Yeah it looks great... but how often do you see a marked police car on the road anyway?
I would much rather see more marked falcon xt and commodore exec police cars on the road... rather than the dependance on speed cameras and unmarked cars...

Im sure if their was less unmarked cars, their would be far less stupidity on the roads.

I have not seen a marked police car on the road in months, and I do an average of 600k's a week... Yet I see at least 5 fixed speed cameras a day.

They need to sort out their prioritys.

No one will pass it until it turns off the flashing lights - just like the pace car at the V8s

I think you’ll find that the Victoria police don’t actually own the car. It would most likely be on loan from the Chrysler corporation. They would probably give it back in six months and it will be sold to some unsuspecting buyer.

I don’t understand what all the fuss is about? It’s a 300C, who cares?

Saw it at the GP yesterday. Also Melbournians beware.... The coppers now have a fleet of GSX-R1000 sportsbikes in plain clothes to go with the plain clothes BMWs they use.....

Fair call. But I still think it's a WOFTAM. Even if it is mostly Chrysler's dosh.

* Cough - "PUBLICITY EXERCISE" - *Cough

There is no way that car would be on general duites or with TOG.

I wonder if the driver seat with cope with the utility belt that coppers wear.

Many a cop car driver seat has been torn or holed from the stuff on those belts.

The Holden seats are the worst. I still remember getting out of a VX sedan one day and getting caught up in the seat and seat belt and finding my S&W half way out of its holster and the butt facing forward with clip through trigger guard.......... Fords are the most comfortable seats for the shoddy belts we wear.
