Default Another IQ challenge

3 men go into a motel.
The desk clerk said the room was $30, so each man paid $10 and went to the room. A while later, the desk clerk realized the room was only $25, so he sent the bellboy to the 3 guys' room with $5.
On the way, the bellboy couldn't figure out how to split $5 evenly between 3 men so he gave each man $1 and kept the other $2 for himself.
This meant that the 3 men each paid $9 for the room, which made a total of $27. Add to that the $2 the bellboy kept and the total is $29.

Where is the other dollar? :lookedat:

I think it's a trick. Adding the $2 to the $27 doesn't give you to true total. The fact is that they paid $27 and recieved $3 change. That totals $30. The two dollars that the bell boy stole is acutally coming straight out of the till.

True - except that the till is only expecting $25, which it has, so it's all square!

$30 - $5 = $25 in till
$1 x 3 for each man = $3
$2 for bellhop = $2
total = $30.

The bellhop has $2.
Men paid: $9 x 3 = $27
$27 - $2 = $25 (that the hotel clerk has)
There is no missing $1

Haha you have to remember the men are actually paying more then the room cost, you are overlooking the fact that they payed for the room plus the bell boys tip of two dollars.

Room cost = $8.33 each
Bellboys Tip = 67c

No money has gone missing its just worded trickerly

Because he is too short to reach the "12" button on the lift controls.

Here's an easy one.

Two girls are born to the same mother, on the same day, at the same time, in the same year and yet they're not twins. How can this be?

It would be a mammoth effort for a game woman to do what i was thinking (and what was suggested by someone else) and have another girl under 12 months later on the same day of the week, but i was also thinking that a surrogate mother could give birth to a girl at the same time as the natural mother, thereby making them "to" the same natural mother. If we wanna think abstractly...

Another one...

Almost everyone needs it, asks for it, gives it, but almost nobody takes it. What is it?

correct thefargo, they are two of triplets.

What occurs once in every minute, twice in every moment, yet never in a thousand years?
