Of late there has been plenty of talk about trophies and who should have won and who should have not. So I'm curious, what makes a trophy important to you?

they are my livelyhood - for me it's important that people buy them!
We find that Trophies encourage people to participate and try again in whatever they compete in. It's a small token of their level of input and gives them something to show their friends what they enjoy and stive for.

I've got all the usual trophies. Darts, Bowling, Indoor Cricket and some others. Mine are mostly for Darts. Its funny, cause when i was the President of the darts club, whenever I was up for a trophy, I always ordered the biggest ones I could get. : Might be a shitty cateogory, but If I won it, i got the best one. Handy when the Mrs is the Treasurer. :

I've got a trophy for swimming that I won when I was 12. Damn I was so proud to get that thing. I won lots of ribbons for swimming also. I've got medals for dancing and for nursing (not many Universities do this anymore).
I won a couple of trophies and medals for bowling but never went to the presentation night. It was like everyone was getting them so it wasn't anything that special. Oh and I got 2nd place for cutest baby in a baby show... : I think my most precious award was finally having my Bachelors degree framed and up on my wall. :1syellow1

I won a few when I was young and fit in soccer and ten pin bowling lol
always good to win a trophy but the enjoyment of doing it is the real satisfaction imo .. |

The best trophies that i have are the ones that ive used the car to get, as in driving and the sort.
the show trophies dont mean as much.
