yes a good test that was...the way a supercar should be, frightfully fast. there was a guy on 5th gear last night who had 2 of the CCR's and about 10 other supercars.

Yeah i loved that too, what a great car, looks great, sounds awesome, the Stig was lucky not to collect a wall.

Can't wait to see how it goes with a wing on it.

Watched the whole episode. The Stig then tried to beat his 1st time in the CCX by doing another v. hot lap but ended up crashing into a tyre barrier. The damage is still on the car and they have concluded (with Koenigsegg agreeing) that it need a rear wing to stabilise the rear end.

but also 2.5 times the price.

over £300 000 didnt they say? Ford GT is only £120 000. Get rid of the supercharger and chuck a coupe of big turbos on it and the GT would catch up.

(still love a CCX though if anyones buying!)

its almost as tho the designers never actually take the car on the track EVER..
how can it be hard to figure out that you should put a wing on a car that tail happy especially at that speed...

altho does a ferrari have a wing?? or is the whole body just "that shape" that it doesnt need one as its just 1 giant wing?

the lap WITH wing would be nice to see!!

Wings are a secondary downforce device. Most downforces come from the diffusers + shape of underbody. In f1 only about 40% of total downforce come from the wings. The advantage of difussers being they provide free downforce with no increase in drag while wings cause drag. The engineers must have thought it didn't need one

You cant compare F1, they are restricted in terms of wings, but restriction on diffusers is minimal.

If F1 had it their way they'd have adjustable wings.

they were referring to Formula One cars, as in the ones Webber and Schumacher and co. drive on racetracks, not the McLaren F1, which is the road car that used to be the fastest production before the Veyron came along.

1. Koenigsegg CCR 388 km/h

2. McLaren F1 372 km/h

3. Ferrari Enzo 355 km/h

These speeds were done on a 12.5 km long oval were the steering is at 30 degrees all the time.
Which means the full top speed of the car aint reached.

Koenigsegg CCR real top speed is over 400 km/h.
It got 806 bhp from a 4.7l V8 engine.

These have since been shunted down the lists for the Buggati Veyron...

It definitly does need some more grip in the rear, but with 800+Hp it's going to be hard to get it to grip up...
