Reckon anyone who'd use bloody Darrell "HUGE" Eastlake as a frontman would have to be a bit suss.. :MrT_anim:
Seriously though, These dudes turn over a large amount of stock so long as the deal is right and they do the right thing regarding any warranty issues it shouldnt really be a problem.
Be warned however, that they are nearly all fleet, ex. govt, lease plan type stuff sometimes driven by people who dont have the type of mechanical sympathy we would come to accept and others who just didnt give a rats.
In other words..Dont buy anything without a proper inspection and get "everything in writing" especially warranty stuff.
Good luck. :thebirds:

I am not the type of guy to talk down ANYONE, so simply put I won't.
All I suggest is that you do your research quite thoroughly on these guys.
I have heard of a number of problems with them (at 1 dealership - others may be run completely differently), however I have not personally had any issues so will refrain from repeating hearsay.

Just get any car you like indepenantly inspected... like with NRMA...

If they have the car you want, go for it...

Also make sure you know the value of the car you are purchasing or at least the red book value as IME they over value cars by up to 10K.

Rip of merchants. They wanted 17 grand for a high KM 98 VT Exec in 2004. My mate looked elsewhere and got a manual VT exec for 11,000.

If you want to buy a near new ex fleet car, check out Fowles or Pickles Aution houses. This is pretty much where Australian Fleet Sales get there cars from.

From what I've seen... they're extreme, extreme, extreme ripoffs. EL's that a worth 7-8 grand selling for 13990 there? Thanks, but no thanks.

I found the cars overpriced with high km. They also were very in my face and persisted at asking personal scoping questions "What do you do for a living, where do you live?, do you live with your parents, what do your parents do for a living?" - ie how much cash can we take off this guy.

I also felt uncomfortable that the sales attendant followed me throughout the yard, to every single car.

These guys also buy the cars from auctions - many of which are open to the public.

Ultimately, I bought my last car from the most relaxed, laid back used car dealer I could find.

Also, look at the changeover price and compare to others.

I agree they overprice their own window price, but they also advertise high trade-ins which is often what battlers need to make the deposit etc.

Just be careful if you're considering getting finance through them, interest rates are always high through places like that.

That is really high mileage for a Mk II!

Towbars are not worth alot, even if it was a 2300kg towbar, they are worth 600 bucks from Hayman Reese (who supply Fords towbars anyway), so don't let that sway you into a higher price. I got mine thrown in with the car.

I bought a Sept 04 XR6 in Vixen for less than that price, no way would I pay that for what you're getting.

When I was buying my XR6, I went to Australian Fleet Sales but they laughed when I said what I wanted, for the price I wanted. So I went up the road and bought the car I have today for the price I wanted.

I know not all yards will be the same, but I wasn't impressed by the one I visited.

Get onto carsales.com.au and look at dealer cars, get a better appreciation of what they are worth. I'd be disappointed if you bought that car at that price.

EnergyAustralia eh? & a red Mk II Futura. I must say that it would be an exceptionally rare vehicle in the EA fleet. Only the high up execs get vehicle choice on their contracts - prob 15 or 20 guys & that covers ALL makes & models. A little suprised they would choose a low specced Futura over a GHIA, though there are a few XR6 cars in there as well, never seen a Futura but EA does cover a fair amount of ground.
If it was an EA vehicle then you can rest assured that it would've had a quite comprehensive 'inhouse' servicing regime performed to manufacturers spec. You 'should' find a bright fluoro yellow service sticker up in the top right of windscreen, & possibly a green / orange / or red sticker adjacent to it.

Sounds dear to me, especially when something like that goes through the auctions for about 17 to 18.5 thou.

in fact the more i think about it that really a ripoff, you can get a fixed price 05 plate futura with 20 thousand kays on it for 22k in Newcastle right now. If finance isnt needed i would definately be checking the Sydney auctions or Pickes and VMA in Newcastle.

I had no problems with them, except for over active salesman.
I got a good discount, NRMA inspection wasn't a problem. They repaired/replaced anything that the NRMA listed. It was low klms and after sales service was pretty good.

looked through there lot when my sister was lookingto replace her EA. Found a nice straight EL, thought thats ok....sticker price of 21,000!! after all the salesmans trying (i got disinterested and decided to see how low i could go with price, after the test drive was no brainer not to buy) was going to give 4500 for the EA (sight unseen)and bring the price down to 15,000 for the EL. So not only was he knocking 6k off the car, giving 4500 for a car worth 500 so effectivley cutting the price by 10k or there abouts! wouldnt even walk in there again!

yeah, very big rip off. I bought my EL from them back in 2001 when they used to be on Nepean Hwy in brighton.

Never again, And 22k for a futura with 65,000 on the clock does seem very excessive. Definately shop around for a good deal.... there is plenty to be had on runout MK2's

Anyone who gives $5,000 Trade in on a Sigma must be dodgy (as can be seen on one of their ads).

These are the guys that used to be called Fury Max no?
