By 2025 there'll be no Mustang in our market and the range will consist of Ranger 4x4/4x2, Transit and Everest.

They'll be a two horse race like Isuzu Ute

Looks like the supposed hatred of the Hilux has diminished and the sheeple have flocked back.

No1 outright and 4x4 for November.

What's going on as where are Tesla sales as they are apparently bigger than Toyota et al and have 3 years left to make ice cars extinct

While only a fraction of Toyota sales, (like every other manufacturer) very encouraging for the blue oval.
Ranger PX3 4x4 just keeps selling.. Only about 30 units behind the new Hilux is extraordinary imo..Really shows how good the Ranger is and it’s building a great reputation in this country as the best Dual cab 4x4 and with a much improved PX4 coming next year, expect the Ranger to keep powering on for the foreseeable future...
Probably the best numbers we’ve seen for Everest also and encouraging numbers also for the new Escape..
Mustang, despite what some might like to believe, just keeps ticking along...
Number 1 sports car under 80k in this country pretty much since it was introduced 5-6 years ago..
Overall, taking Toyota out of the equation, very encouraging result for Ford and it’s dealers...

Everest just keeps improving. It’s been building every year since it was released. The all new one is going to push it even further. It took Ranger years to catch Hilux. I reckon another 3 or 4 years and it will start getting close to Prado. They are really pushing the new one style wise. More US large SUV style.

Is it just Covid or is one model making up 64% of total sales a long term trend for Ford AU? I'd be worried about that in the best of times to be honest.

I’m in the market for a dual cab, and for value for money nothing comes close to a T60. I can buy a brand new T60 Luxe for $33k, a Ranger equivalent goes for $65k, even a Triton goes for over $50k. To buy a Ranger and the same price point I’m looking at a 7 year old, 160k km XLT.

If the difference in price was a few thousand then I would go one of the majors, but when we’re talking tens of thousands of dollars they have to be considered.

What will the 7 year old 160000km T60 be worth?

Ranger XLT is $56k driveaway.

Is resale value the only important metric of a car? If so we'd be the Australian Toyota Forum

No of course not but if you are buying something only because it is cheaper initially, surely you need to consider it. You may end up paying more in the long run for the cheaper option.

About the same (or maybe a bit more) as 14yr Old 320,000Km Ranger...

besides; resale value is, ALL about percentage of New Sale Price....

Friend of mine bought one as a business vehicle to tow caravans as he owns a van yard, loves it, his offsider was equally as impressed and bought one too.
The key to these isnt longevity, its about getting into a new ute at an affordable price, then flip it for another in a few years.

That's what I think when I see people in VW Amarok

There's a bloke getting around in a LDV T60 every morning here locally, he's usually on the receiving end of an overtake because he drives 20 under the speed limit on the highway.

I don't mind the look of them, the new GWM one is going to be interesting.

I think I'd go for the Chinese Special over the Thailand Special, they are on point for value.

Price sells.. 7 year warranty. They must have confidence in their cars. Cheapest Ford is $30k.

So what was behind the dramatic increase in Ford’s combined SUV sales?
Endura, Everest, Escape and Puma all combined for a healthy jump....

Buyers liked what they saw and could afford to buy what they wanted.
Maybe a few more of those plain speaking ads and see what happens.

It would be interesting to see what was the % increase by state. Vic came out of lockdown in Nov (25% of Aus. economy) and I know some businesses have had their best November ever and some their best month ever.

Whatever is going on, it’s great news for Ford in November,
it could be as simple as stock arriving and being sold as soon
as it arrives. Fingers crossed they back it up in December.

I guess dealers putting new models into the demo fleet as well as the media launches for Escape and Puma would have accounted for the jump in sales.
