While driving through Nambour today I spied two very unloved XA/XC coupes sitting under a tree in the weather . One looks mostly intact the other looks to be missing a lot of parts . Is there anyone on here that might know anything about them , cause I am going to go back in a few weekends and knock on the door to enquire about them. I drive a truck so I could see them over the fence . I dont think you would see them if you were in a car .

Good luck with that! I hope its not another one of those situations where the owner says they will restore them one day and aren't for sale. 10 years down the track they are still where you spied them rotting away.......

Yeah , Thats what I'm worried about ! Had that before with a genuine XR GT in Darwin . A couple of mates (brothers) tried to rescue it for about 15 years , sitting under a tree in the tropical weather . it was totaly complete and it went to the tip totaly rusted out without even taking any parts off it ! Same story , it was my dads and I am going to restore it one day !

They weren't up National Park Road were they? I think I've seen a couple sitting somewhere in nambour the last time I was down there on my motorbike (I grew up in Nambour and we head down the area now and then).

Ok, So I was doing loads up at Nambour again today and as I drove past the said house with the 2 very unloved Coupes under the tree , I spied someone in the yard . I stopped and asked about the coupes and they are not for sale . the guy already has a very nice XB coupe in the shed out back and he is going to build another one out of the other two, then repair all the rust in the remaining shell and sell it . He is a qualified Sheet Metal Worker so I think these 2 cars are in good hands .
So back to looking around for my future project !!!!

There's an xm 2 door in the barossa sitting under a shed frame, no roof or sides on the shed, been there for quite a few years now.
As usual not for sale and won't roll it into one of the six sheds on the property. 9 times out of ten the cars sitting outside that aren't for sale because its going to be " done up one day" end up at the scrap metal yard . If they were really going to do them up it would be in a shed for starters so it wouldn't rust away...every time I see something in the weather I come to the conclusion its going to end up crushed into a cube

My GT Cortina sat out in the weather in the same spot for 7 years, knocked back about 10 offers to sell over that time. It's now all restored and garaged now.
Sometimes they do eventually get restored.
