We came out of the shops to find some low life has not only hit our car with a trolley but left it still mounted to our front spoiler!!!!!
It's a Au3 Fairmont Sparkling Burgundy on superlows with C2R kit. It was hit hard enough to split about 70% through the lip. No security cameras either, might invest in our own in car cameras now. Who does this or even stands by and watches..... Sucks :( |

Ouch, you can only hope it wasnt deliberate, I have seen someone knock a trolley with their car by accident and sent it flying into someone's car door leaving a big dent.

Trolly offenders are scum.
I got a big scratch down the side of my car at north lakes and was livid. Couple of months later I found out why, watched a trolly boy direct a huge line of trolleys in between 2 cars instead of going around them, got away from him and slam into the side of one of the cars. He looked up, saw me and gave me a dirty look then kept on going.... *******. Hope you get it sorted soon, also, motion detection cameras rock. Got mine for $100 off ebay with gps |

I have seen numerous times a trolly that is parked against a pole that suddenly will take off and roll into a car. It isn't always malicious.

lol had a near miss once...involved two of us loading a BBQ, a bunnings trolley and a parking lot on a hill haha puckered.
Sorry to hear tho, damaged cars hurt at the best of times.. i never park in a bay with the trolleys near by and always move the singles away. Norfy

Totally going to look at getting one of those motion cameras now. Thanks for the link too It did look deliberate just because it was nose in and only had a walkway then a glass wall.
It use to have Pedders 6408 springs in the front and the sides of the spoiler have had a few dingles... Feel better now with a belly full of roast and a few beers, Cheers. |

I could worry that bunnings lost a few bucks, but they cost me a few hours last week so thumbs up on that too! |

I was at the shops yesterday, we had a 42km wind blowing. A stray trolley was rolling along at least at 10km. Luckily it ended up in a garden bed and not the side of a car. Sometimes its just bad luck, that said, even if i see someone writing a note after hitting someone elses car i check it. Twice Ive read the note to see it say "haha, these people think im giving you my details...."

The problem with video is its really hard to track down an offender. Still, good if its someone like a neighbour. I had a neighbour that kept reaching into my landcruiser through the quarter windows and unlocking the doors. I tried for ages to find rabbit traps to screw to the inside of the door panel but no one wanted to sell me one when I explained what it was for.
This flamethrower linked to an alarm would be best though; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQbHnLSasfQ |

Even the "accidents" where a stray trolley rolls into a car wouldn't happen if lazy slobs would walk their trolleys to the trolley bay instead of leaving them lying around. In car parks these days, there's a trolley bay every 50 metres at the most. No excuse for not putting them away when you're done.

most upsetting seeing some lazy sod 50 feet away from a trolley bay and just leave it precariously at the top of a the hill in the super market car park right where they finish using it,
i usually park at the top of the hill away from other cars in the hope of sparing my limo of more trolley dents, this action usually guarantees someone will park in close proximity to me with an suv load of kids :(. |

I have found that it tends to be lazy people who can't be bothered returning their trolley to the trolley bay that cause this sort of damage.
Shame to hear somebody caused deliberate damage to your car.

I've managed to protect my daily driver from shopping trolleys for the 9.5years I've owned it .. and last night a car coming the other way at 100km/h drove over a branch on the road as I went past the other way at 100km/h; branch flew out and hit the drivers rear door .. removing numerous chunks of paint :(
Might as well sacrifice it to the shopping centre carpark demons now .. |

An easy way to prevent these sorts of trolley incidents (usually caused by lazy people not returning trolleys) would be for the supermarkets to install those $2 locks on the trolleys so you don't get your $2 back until you return the trolley properly. Then again this would require spending money...

I don't get it, Coles and Woollies make billions in yearly profit, yet they still don't have this simple bit of technology, heck they don't even have decent trolleys that work. Just unbelievable.

In the long run they save money, no trolley boys to pay. Not to mention the Housos who take the trolleys all the way to their flat a kilometre or 2 away, then They have to send out the trolley boy in his tractor and trailer to collect them all. |
