Looks like Ford have already had to bring out a feature packed model to get FGII Rolling.
Anyone have any details or pics? I just seen it advertised on carsales, but no photos?

Theres a white G6 limited edition "ecoboost" at my local dealer. My dad and i looked at it over the easter weekend.
Looked like a normal G6 but had leather seats and the G6Eturbo boot "lip" spoiler. The dealer had written on the window all new ecoboost engine with 179kws power and 335nm of torque.... seems they cant even read the specs properly |

The more I see the few and far between MKII's on the road, the more I'm inclined to think they are going to bomb. The new front just doesnt blend with the rest of the car.

I reckon they look great... Just lack of market interest... I am keen to drive an Ecoboost 4 G6 LE.

EcoLPI hasn't really lifted sales in the past six months, maybe Ecoboost is Falcon's last best chance to win back some sales.

Neither am I. The front is horrible on the XR6 variants. The Chrome front is nice.

I've seen quite a few MKII's on the street. I must say that I didn't like the front at first but now seeing more of them, it's growing on me.

Its definitely grown on me, not too crash hot on the XR front (the projectors look stupid on the inside) but absolutely LOVE the G series front. Should have changed the rear a little bit though, maybe a lip on the boot (like VE 2) different style rear bumper insert etc..
how can you not like this? |

Everyone comments on the FGII exterior. After having a good look over a new G6 EcoLpi on the weekend, Ford needs to do something to the G6 interior to make it more attractive to potential buyers.
To me the exterior seems fine, but the interior could do better to improve the luxury 'feel'. I always thought the G6 was the equivalent of the old Fairmont/Futura in terms of luxury, but seemed somewhat lacking when thinking back to the old AU1 Fairmont I had some years ago. There is no liner inside the bootlid, the full size spare wheel should be relocated back more toward the rear seat to give more usable boot space (an EcoLPi thing), and the interior seemed somewhat ordinary in terms of colour and materials used. Therefore a Limited Edition, or better still a permanent upgrading of the G6 especially the interior would be most appropriate. |

G6 is based on the old Futura, which in comparison was very low rent....
I still think the G6 should replace XT....

I agree, at this price point you want gizmo's and stuff.
yes the Falcon is more capable than a smaller midsizer but people are cross shopping like mad these days.

I naturally thought the 'G' series, which includes the G6, was the old 'high series'. Obviously thats not correct then.

Well it was and it wasn't..... If you look at previous Fairmont Spec G6 did not cover it all, its in between a Futura and a Fairmont, but still priced at Futura pricing (which is why most suggest its just a Futura with added specs).

But hopefully the G6 Limited Edition should help rectify that situation.

I've seen a fair few MkIIs now (all models). I like the new face.
Have they tweaked the suspension ? - they seem to sit lower to me.

I think the mk2 front bar looks shocking on the XR range but I quite like it on the G6
