Did anyone local go? Get any good photos? A couple of cars looked familiar.
I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of cars on display there, there were just so many of them! Interesting that the Taurus SHO, new F-series and Fusion hybrid were there, the Taurus seems a lot smaller in the flesh than I was led to believe but I preferred the Fusion. A good look inside revealed hard grainy plastics and not too flash quality, plus it didn't look like there was a great deal of room in the Taurus which was a little disappointing. All in all a lot of very nice cars, would gladly own just about any of them, especially a couple of the Fairlanes that were around

I went, rocked a little too late and was denied entry to the grounds :( Always next year, I guess - I can thank my old man for that... should've just gone on my own.
Anyway, I drove back with my daily and had a gander at what else was on display. Loved most of what was there, but it wasn't as good as last year, IMO. Couldn't get enough of the XA's/XB's/XC's and the wicked colour combos of some cars. Esepcially that green on green XB GT Hardtop, couldn't pick its actual colour though. Unfortunately a large number of cars were denied, which almost screams that they need a bigger venue, if possible. Hell, genuine GT's were knocked back (real GT's, not that plastic stuff). My only gripes were all the smokers + some, let's say... ethnics having a go at some p-plater in a BA/BF at the end - they could've handled that situation better than the way they did. Was fun watching all the cars exit at the end too Mind you, a handful of those Clevos and Windsors sounded less than ordinary (most were however spot on). |

You can't beat the sheer number of good cars to look at, not too many junkers.
Ford had a Taurus, Fusion Hybrid, Explorer and Edge to get the locals accustomed to them for when they hit the road here in a few years. But they also had SVT Raptor and Boss 302 Stang. Highlight was a black or very dark green 69 Mustang, it was promoting something, can't remember what but it was mint. Quad Webbers and all. |

at least I got there early Funny, I thought the same thing about those LHD evaluation vehicles.Tauras was ugggly but the Fusion was ok and the Exploder I could live with that Raptor was sure big! Maybe that 1 Ford thing may work as long as our engineers Aussiefi them! I saw a Maverick ,never even heard of it, but it had a 250 ci motor that if you didnt know, was the same as ours Really like the ESP's ,some of those Fairlane coupes were ace and that red one in the pics boy o boy I cant believe the that with so many ford fans out there they cant sell the new ones |

Oh and you know what else was there, that godawful brown Crown Vic cop car! It was the topic of a thread a few weeks ago, someone must have bought it and put it on display. It really was nothing special in the flesh, had this awful blue plastic dash, like something out of an '80s Toyota. Saw a couple of our local police checking it out.
^ thanks for the pics mate, look forward to seeing more.

Hey, let's not bash Crown Vics. The guy who bought that car joined CrownVic.net recently, and posted some Geelong pictures.
I went to an All Ford show yesterday in Orlando. See pictures here: http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/u...Number=2462516

Plus its the variety that makes a show. I used to go to Ford shows all the time but after years and years you can only see so much. If i had known Ford was going to show up I would have made more effort.

I've got too many photos to 'photobucket' but I must say I was impressed with the cars at the show, it was very big and full of lots of variety.
My favourite 3 cars for the day... 1) One Owner XY Falcon 500 / Factory 351, 9" Diff, Hawaiin Cloth Inserts, Yellow Ochre, lots of options. This was a killer car, and really stood out - as it didn't have the warpaint but would be way cooler to own... 2) XA Fairmont Coupe (Fact 351 / Auto) Again - a cool 'survivor' car, not dressed up to impress, just a clean car with a couple of marks showing that it's lived it's life... 3) XC Coupe - Moffat Livery - Ex Race Car (perhaps?) I'm not sure about the story with this one - but it was part of the HO / Wayne Draper stand... This is a perfect 'Beater' car... which mark my words will be the next big craze with the car scene... It looks like it might have been a racer of some sort, there are some tell-tail signs inside and out, but I didn't get to talk to anyone to hear the story - so if you know more about it - feel free to share! Keep your eyes peeled for 'Beater' cars, they WILL be the next big thing... cars that have an original/weathered/beaten up exterior - but have TOP running gear underneath...

This Car was WAY over the top - but I couldn't stop looking at the very red trim... EVERYTHING was red leather... a lot of work there... I like different - and this XA GT without blackouts was different to me... 1982 XE ESP Turbo - very rare beast Super Nice ED XR8 Sprint A Very Yellow LTD A Very Yellow Landau (maybe a cousin of the LTD?) DeTomaso Pantera - What a Car!!! A very original Fairlane/Marquis - Inside was amazing A Wayne Draper / GT-HO XD Phase V Thats about all I got There were so many more... Was a great day... I was very much into the not-so-common cars... The more 'unique' rather than the popular choices... There was a group of XD/XE ESP's together, that was really cool... And a few of 50s and 60s cars... Definately worth going to next year... I'd take this show over Hanging Rock...

That front splitter on the Wayne Draper HO looks like it would last about 10 seconds out on the road before it got ripped off or smashed up.
