only thing would be kerb weight, I'm pretty sure they got the 221 in the 70's that would make it rather brisk (and scary).

i don't like it...it's just the yank falcon we ''aquired'' it & made it work. some older ford lovers might have a different opinion, i'm 28...i grew up with XF's in the family, then when i was into XF's & such as i was starting to love cars, my dad had a AUII.

to me, it's as much a ford falcon as the holden cruze is...

...a holden cruze

I once showed my father this image and asked him what kind of Ford it was. He couldn't believe it was a Falcon.

You would be very surprised how many 'old cars' were still in production many decades past their release date.

The original Beetle (1938–2003), Citroen 2CV (1948—1990) and Mini (1959–2000) were still made into the late 90's and perhaps even early 00's. Minor adjustments were made along the way but still almost identical.

Edit, the dates in brackets are the model production dates from wikipedia.

Mostly made in poorer countries where safety wasn't a priority.

True! They still make a variant of the old late 60's Hillman Arrow/Hunter (remember them?....No?! Can't blame you!) in Iran.

That Falcon also had a negative image - the government torture squads used green ones when they used to go out and knock on people's doors at 2 in the morning (this was at the height of the brutal "dirty war").

Sort of like how some people don't like Alsatians because they were used by some goverments security forces.

had that a few times growing up...once when i was about 11-12, i corrected the random bloke at the shop, that it was a german shepherd - never herd of an alsatian at that age, but i grew up with ''savage'' german sheperds.
i learned to walk alongside one in fact, a long haired girl i used to hang on to as a little tacker

I've been facebook friends with the Argentinian Falcon car club for 6 months and they are very active with runs and displays. But isn't that what customising is all about? Whe you don't have much, you don't believe you are missing out
