Default A choice of fords

Ok there is a hidden agenda in this but it will be good to see peoples reasoning as well. It's limited to a degree so that the price doesn't exceed anything above $40,000 but still can have some variation and would be keen to read others thoughts.
Good quality means looked after and possibly lower k's, Heavily used means high k's and average condition (compared to showroom)
Stock means stock. Tricked refers to receiving some mods be it boost or dumped etc.

Hopefully that makes sense, it's hard to word it so just take it at face value. and yeah... hypothetical of course!

If it were me Kenny, the Typhoon would be my pic, but considering I know you want a V8, I think a GT is more you. But you need to look at each car on its individual merit regardless of km's.

you've got XR8 Tricked on there twice... Also, where's the option for Focus or Mondeo XR5 ?

Can I assume you mean XR6 Turbo as well?

Dang, there are always flaws in my posts!Yes the bottom XR8 tricked was meant to read XR 6/t.
To be honest, I didn't really think of the focus or Mondeo. You have my apologies!

Another flaw. I guess just list what you would choose first regardless of use. For this example, just your average everyday car user.

A good quality GT would be more classy than a basic Typhoon if I understand the options correctly. BUT. A stock XR6T would be my pick as it would be the cheapest of the lot - not just the initial buying price either. And as you would be aware of, they have got a lot of potential as well if the mod bug hits home...

Good range of input so far! A big sorry goes out to those who wished to vote for something else not on the list. We'd be here all day if I could include everything that would be nice to drive.
AUXR - I can't shake him off :P haha nah good mate of mine

Brand new XR6 T, theyd be about $40 with a bit of haggling. Otherwise something like an FPV Force 6.

the heavily used GT-P is a no brainer for something thats got more kms than a freight train and not that much more to offer than a GT, that GT-P would have to be DAMN cheap, i mean cheaper than XR6 sort of price

i went Stock XR8 because i bought one, i traded the BF XR6 for a BT50 as i wanted a 4x4, then realised i have all this money wasting it on a new 4x4 and losing value.... so i traded it for a V8....lost more money than this car is worth...... didnt really care what sort just had to be a V8

i had my way again i wouldnt have bought the V8 with such little power, i would buy the GT 315 or the F250 powerstroke not the XR8 260...

the other thing is as a daily driver the XR6T sedan i test drove was getting 9L/100km on the highway drive i did good 30mins worth (i didnt reset it)..... my XR8 with a mixture of babying and lead footedness gets me 16L/100km around town, 14L/100 if im really careful (not possible with a V8 though waste of money) ....... in otherwords its a lot of money to spend on a car for daily commuting

i say buy the XR6 sedan for $12k, get yourself onto a 2010 Seadoo GTX IS 260hp (i feel sad now that a 4cyl engine has the same power as my V8 :( )... cost about the same and have alot more fun, plus jetskis pull the chicks man..... trust me and better resale + you'll have the worlds first boat with a brake

I reckon the Stock XR8. It's obviously going to be a later model so that wins me.

I chose the stock XR8 being that I know it would be fairly nice and low K's, More likely to get a manual maybe?
Also, if you chose to do anything to it yourself, you have a good base and can get the same power out of it that you can the GT for less money/ less K's and better condition.

XR8's can look nice (not quite as good as a GT) but still have a bit of road presence.

So it would be XR8 for me. I am sure there are other reasons to me that would favor it but I juts can't think of them right now.

Tricked XR8 for me. Saves money on the mods that are more than likely going to be wanted later, unless keeping stock is the intent. Of course criteria on being in good condition always applies. (And having the mods that are wanted). And for under 40k you can get a BF2 with the 6 slusher with plenty of change.

if i had the green stuff i would go for the qaulity GT 1st (i am v8 man at heart), buying something modified a major percentage of the time can be asking for trouble down the track imo, you don`t know what the previouse owner has done in / or to the car, if maintenance costs were a consideration i would go with any of the 6t options(qaulity) but f6 would be my pick ;).

Quality BF GT for me. I'd try to get one with the 6 speed auto, failing that I'd go the 6 speed manual.

Basic Typhoon I think Ken means is a stock 'base model', not an R spec or dealer specc'd version.
