G'day all
Just after some advice, yesterday my mum came over for a visit with two envelopes with my name but adressed to my mums street but instead of having street #30 it had #50, strange seeing i havent lived their for 17 years.
Anyway opened them to find two fines from October last year for using citylink $204 each, i nearly fell over the infringment penalty was $113 and the rest were extra cost.
I think i used citylink on those dates but the thing is i never received any other letters before this and to be sent to a different address and the wrong street number.
I rang the enquiries number to ask why all this had happened and they informed me that i had another speeding fine from june this year and there had been extra cost added to this one as well. Bloody hell....
When i quizzed the address problem he informed me that notices had been sent to my current address when the infringment first occured and when nothing had been done they sent this final notice to my mums address(well street anyway) he was going to send me forms to fill out to contest it.
Has anyone else delt with this kind of thing before, i dont mind paying a fine if ive commited an offence but i dont think i should have to pay all the extra cost from nealy 12 months ago when this is the first i no of it.
This would be the first fines ive had in 10 years been lucky i guess.

If it's the first fine you've had in ten years then you can appeal for special consideration. My Dad did it quite a number of years ago when he was booked in a 60 zone doing 80, just 3 days after the zone had been reduced from 80 to 60. He quoted his previous 15 year record of no offenses.

They cleared both the points penalty and the fine.

I have no idea who to address the letter too, or how to write it, but perhaps someone else who has had this experience can help.
