Light commercial numbers are interesting:

Falcon Ute: 1328
Holden Ute: 864

Ranger combined: 1239
Colorado and Rodeo combined: 1026

Lucky I bought a Ranger in July, added one to the total!! Not for me directly but for an employee to drive. HUGE value for money!!

That's hilarious mate. I nearly sprayed my cuppa all over the laptop when I read that. That'll teach me to drink and read!

I can't believe the amount of Prado's & Landcruiser's that Toyota manage to sell.
Those Prado's need to be banned off the road Most of the ones I see every day are the big petrol sucking variety with the typical 'Mum & the kids' in them.

It's amazing how many 4wd/SUV type vehicles are still selling compared to smaller cars.

Good to see Ford doing better than most of the others. Honda has certainly taken a smashing.

That's it for me.

Isn't the Barina a real piece of imported crap? If so I can't believe its sales compared to Fiesta. Unless I am missing something, its a good case in point for the best product not necessarily gaining the most sales.

Funny how the largest cars besides the ranger actually where up in sales . I think it would be a tough job predicting the sale markets.

5% up is better than a poke in the eye, better than a kick in guts @ 9.7% hehe
Am I reading this right, FG July 08 sales above BF July 07 ?

I believe you are.

Good to see FG sales are up above BF, but as had been said, are sales as good as what Ford were expecting/hoping for?

Falcon up by 8.1%
Commodore down by 4.4%

Taking the (popular) Commodore as an indicator of the large sedan market (would be interested to see Aurion), the FG is doing pretty well?

Well if you consider the BFII sales last year were for an outgoing model and outgoing generation, and now the new FG model has only been able to better the BFII by 400 units (when the BFII was essentially in runout mode), its a pretty poor result.

Ratt could you please post mitsubishi, mazda and subaru.

Thanks.

" While Commodore defied the industry trend by increasing its sales over June (up 632 units), Ford’s new FG Falcon held ground with 3448 sales – though that will still include some of the superseded model. "

Safe to say sales are probably not where Ford would like to be .
Of more interest is Corolla - 4476 sales ! Corolla is the biggest threat as it is a small car gaining large fleet and private sales

No I dont think so ....... There are way too many other factors in place to come up with the difference is sales performance. Many things have changed since, especially the economic climate for starters and the fact that a new model was still half a year away, the run out deals for BF were very good and with no new model to compare, sold very well. From the FG to the BF 11 run out, the difference on a Fairmont ghia to the G6E equates to $15,000 differnce ..... and they still sold 400 cars more in the falcon - G series range. Plus no Fairlanes (200) 12 months ago and an increase overall

The FG has hit the ground running in a climate that has desecrated the large car market .... an increase of 400 cars .... in one month in a market that is said to have shrunk considerablly. Not too shabby

I'm with you here, July last year was very early run out mode if at all.
Last months Falcon sales would still have throw away BF's mixed in the 3448 units though I think very well done considering not all FG models hit the show room floor, the current economic climate, the oppositions doing deals left right and centre.

A modest but good positive result in an uncertain climate for car sales, FG sales up about 10% on BF and not all models are fully avaliable yet. At that rate of overall improvement we'll have Holden pegged by christmas.

Except that this is against the 2 year old VE Commodore.

VF should be on stream soon.

Also did anybody else see the new Aurion ads about "class leading safety" and "F1 inspired aerodynamics"

The average punter does not necessarily care as most will see it as the next model. The VE is essentially still only a two year old design, while the FG is a top hat with BA under pinning's.

I suspect that still the average punter would not be aware of any of this or even simply just does not care either.

I suspect that this won't detract from either car.

Only 309 Modeos vs 259 Epicas.
they were aiming for 500 Modeos per month? Problem with supply?

Toyota 4WD sales took a substantial increase whilst their smaller car segment didn't move much at all..... Not the results i was expecting

As for Ford a small but extremely positive 5% increase, would be keen to see what falcon sales are projected for the next three months..

How long have the convertible focus' been on sale for??

Medium market not as strong as I thought.

Mondeo & Mazda 6 doing it tough, it would be interesting to see Accord Euro figures,

I see a bit of a resurgance for Fiesta & Focus, & Territory keeps hanging on, despite being as old as methusala. You gotta wonder at how Toyota sells so many Camry's and Yaris's - Camry is garbage, especially when there is the Aurion , and well the Yaris is just another supermini.

I notice a big drop for Caprice and an increase for Statesman... I'm guessing KRudd's 'yet to be confirmed' LCT increase is biting hard...
