Default Choke on this Bitter pill...

I nearly choked on my sandwich when I saw this on Serious Wheels earlier today...

Quote:
2008 Bitter Vero Based on the Holden Statesman, the limited production Bitter Vero is selling for €122,000, or approximately $175,576.

The... Vero is based on the (6 liter V8) Holden Statesman. Changes include different front and rear fascia, new hood, upgraded interior appointments, and improvements to the suspension and brakes.
Remember too, that $175K is in US dollars...

Bitter Vero

Victoria Bitter

I wish I could make a joke out of that but there is simply no comparison between the two

Evolution at it's best....in the 60's and early70's we took que's from ugly American styled Fords and made our own hot looking home grown Falcons.
Now they've taken a reasonably smart looking statesman and made it a fugly American bucket.

The yanks do have a funny sense of humor when it comes to designing cars. Just take a look at any of the new offerings they have in the Ford line up, someone needs to belt the designers over the head and drag them out of the 80's.

Not a bad scam when you think of it. How many other badge engineered cars in history have been sold for about $100K more than their progenitors

Get rid of the badging from the boot, and the back looks quite nice really.

That doesn't make up for the front by any means though....

: Arn't the statemen worth around €40,000. Not a bad markup. Terrible styling. They should have left the original alone.

Apparently they did it to a Monaro as well

http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=85440

It's even uglier

Talk about almost falling off ones chair!

That Monaro is a bloody replica of an Italian classic, the 'Fiat Coupe'....

I have been looking into importing one of these beauties ever since I saw a yellow one on the streets of Turin with bonnet scoops and a body kit that made it look like a Ferrari.

"Monaro" rear:

And the whole real car....

And she IS MINE

Picked her up on Saturday... after several years of searching I finally found the right car at the right time in the right place at the right price...

Got it for my birthday (today)... I still can't wipe the smile from my face.

Even the key is a thing of beauty

And the final touch:

Its got nothing to do with America, so I fail to see how your blaming the styling on them? Bitter is a German company....

That red "manaro?" is super duper, I was waiting for some Flash Dancers to jump out from behind and go-go dance around it!
What the hell is wrong with this company?!

Even WITH the current falcon bulge tacked on it ain't worth adding a 6 figure sum to the pricetag.
