Default Now I've seen everything

This morning on the way to work I witnessed one of the most stupid things I have ever seen on the road.

I was travelling into the City on Anzac Hwy which for those not familiar with Adelaide is one of the main roads leading into the City. It is a 3 lane road with 2 other major roads feeding into it.

I was sitting at the Cnr of Marion Road and Anzac Hwy at 8-00am in the middle lane. This intersection is very busy and at times Anzac Hwy can be a “carpark”. All of a sudden I heard this noise which at first I though was a truck.

I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw clouds of smoke coming from a car which was 2 behind me. I then realised that this guy was just sitting there with cars all around him ( he was boxed in ) doing a massive burnout. I estimate that it went for at least 15 seconds which I know doesn’t sound long but for the people around him I’m sure it was.

The smoke from the tyres covered all the cars around him and was giving this car a flogging. Cars were still not moving and then he did it again for another 5 seconds. Make and model of the car not relevant but it was a V8 and it was loud.

Picture a tic-tac-toe grid …. He was the middle square and all the other boxes were full.

Lights turn green and off we go and sure enough I can see him changing lanes and tailgating people.

He then did a u-turn and went back the other way still spinning the tyres.

I took his rego which has been handed on to the police.

Don’t get me wrong, I like to smoke the bags a bit every now and then, but there is a time and a place and this was neither.

Cheers

Brad

Well done.
there are some tools out there.
doesnt take much at all for the rear to get a touch of traction and shoot you into the car in front.
he's lucky someone didnt drag him out of the car and give him a floggin there and then.

what a tool.

I doubt the police will do anything though. I wasrun off the road by some guy once. I had a witness and his rego/time/place and the policeman did not care, would not take a statement and just brushed me off. Reconds they cannot do anything unless the see it.

What? Are you sure the cop didn't just want to go back to his donut stash?

tip for young players .... if you think that you wont be reported to the police for this behaviour you are incorrect.

Update from the police is that they had 7 reports of this incident and a "person of interest" is currently being questioned.

Ha ha ha ha ha ....I love it when justice is served.

I imagine a police visit would sound something like this....

"Excuse me sir where you on Anzac Pde this morning?"

"Ahhh yes officer"

"Did you do a burnout?"

"No officer, who ever says that must be mistaken"

"Its not one person...its seven people who all gave a description of your car, with your rego at the same time, at the same place. Are you saying that all seven people are lying?"

"Ummmmmmm......yes"

"Come to the station and lets talk some more....the drive will let you think about your answer a little more"

Off topic - Mrs Ringo got tail gated and passed by a nutter woman in a silver mazda on Friday, who upon passing her took off doing 80+ in a 60 zone (Beach Rd Melb). Mrs Ringo rounds a bend a minute later and sees nutter mazda woman pulled over and being talked to by a fully marked Traffic Ops Cop Car...I'm tipping she didn't get off.

Burnout in gridlocked traffic? Unbelievable...its like one of those things you would fantasize about but never do - such as riding a nuclear bomb out of an aircraft or eating your pets dog food.

been there, done that.

As for the author, it's taken you a while if you haven't seen a VN perform a burnout in traffic. I think it's in the owner's manual?

Would there not have been CCTV cameras at the intersection?

Either way, 7 reports on the same event. The guy shouldn't have a leg to stand on....

It is irresponsible to do such an act in gridlock traffic. Plain and simple, its not the time or the place. Keep it for the track. But in saying that, we dont have a track anymore since AIR has been closed....:P
