not quoting any evidence , but it seems to me that there is a lot of chaos in the world of late . lots of info on news not on tv etc etc . riots everywhere , and it seems allies are being formed and disclosed quite quickly , on top of this the doom and gloom conspiricies and economic doom sayers seem to be everywhere .
im i just having one of those days or do others get that feeling ? Last edited by gtfpv; 18-09-2012 at 01:09 PM. |

I'm guessing you watched a lot of Get Smart back in the day? You're thinking of 'chaos', 'KAOS' was the Soviet spy agency that Maxwell Smart always outwitted

This kind of Kaos? Shame Max & Chief are dead but I think 99 is still around. - Or do you mean 'chaos'? I don't now if there's any more of it in the world, just with the internet we hear more of it.

your not alone mate, i often think to myself how much better it was when Australia was pretty much self sufficient in trading up to point and was`nt involved so much with the rest of the worlds problems, well apart from world wars and stuff , i reckon the computer internet/modern media has a lot to answer for also with all the doom and gloom.
it was probably always there but now every thing that happens is on your screen in minutes from it happening , there`s no escape. |

Nup, the world is far less chaotic than it has ever been.
The difference is now every single pleb on the planet has access to huge amounts of information about events that have noting to do with them, tend to spend far too much time being offended or outraged over things about which they can do nothing and are manipulated into feeling guilty over things that they had no interaction with. The problem with information is that it has to be processed and the dumber you are the less ability you have to actually understand any information. In the last century we have been gradually increasing the level of information while lowering the average IQ due to "accidental" anti-eugenics which has led to most of the situations we find ourselves in at this point. |

The mean IQ score is 100, with a standard deviation of 15. They were deliberately scored that way when they were developed, the 'average' has never been adjusted. Some research has actually shown that average IQ scores among certain groups has increased over the past several generations, due to the fact that people are staying in school much longer now than before and there are many more people in teritary/postsecondary education. So I dunno where you've gotten those ideas from.

So when you drive you don't spend more time watching the speedo than the outside road in case you go 5km/h over the limit and if you do you don't automatically pay a fine without contesting it? What do you think would have happened to an equivalent of speed cameras or any other "guilty until proven innocent system" 50 or 100 years ago? You accept all the violence and revocation of your freedoms due to some whinging minority (who are usually not Australian) wanting to change our ways to suit themselves. Society has become very naive and believes almost any propaganda fed to them. We are now full of people who are so afraid of everything and anything including having to make a decision that we just run around in circles screaming the sky is falling whenever the slightest problem appears and then expect someone else to solve it. The average Australian is SO DUMB that they believe that speed kills, guns are only for terrorists, they have a right to be given a job but not have to work, universities are full of people who know what is best for them, the public service exists to make things happen not prevent things happening, gambling in clubs is good for the community and all the other crap that rammed down our throats. In fact some people believe the world is in chaos....... |

I like an opinion, but I wonder how many of these "dumb plebs" opinions are taken on board before they are shut down??

Chaos? Perhaps wider reporting and access to world events makes it feel that way, would be interesting to see it broken down into numbers. I have major events happening anywhere in the world delivered straight to my handset within moments of it happening. 30 years ago, I would have had to have sought out that information - if it was even reported here. |

theres always been problem people and troubled times......absolutely no difference now we have choices now as we did then.......if we listen to the news then we have a major problem with the muslims......not true....the rioters are the minority condemned by their own leaders according to the media everything is falling apart.....water shortage, global warming, political upheaval Kate's topless photos.....the sky is falling nothing has changed in my excessive lifetime......the news is still the same..... the faces change I travel a lot.......I've met a lot of folks and I'm glad i did.......more decent folk out there than bad.....trouble is we meet 100 great folks but the one pinhead stays in our memory the media has to have news at any cost at any time.....doesn't matter if it is factual or newsworthy.... just has to be news if we all honestly believed the world is going to hell then what is the point of continuing a pointless existence not me......I love life and refuse to believe the propaganda spread around and labelled as "fact" switch the telly off, ......see life as it really is
