Hi guys,
its been a while since i was on here but do have a funny story to tell.
A mate of my brothers who worked for Leyland Australia in Zetland so many years ago brought a brand new mini.
anyway years later the mini got stolen from the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney and the Police found it near Luna Park over in North Sydney.

When my brothers mate went to pick the car up it had been washed and cleaned inside. he asked the Police if they had washed it and cleaned the inside and they told him No we found it that way.

He told me he never washed it and maybe it should be stolen more often because they cleaned for him.

I was looking at a recovered stolen X series Falcon a few years back, and the owner pointed out to me that it had had a new water pump installed.

A mate of mine still has his wrecking yard, it has been pretty bad with stuff getting knocked off nearly every night and weekend, we are not talking the odd small thing either, he had a car that he just bought, first night in the yard they stole the whole interior, hood lining with carpet and seatbelts included, he thought well that's not really a problem as interiors are not real huge money makers, so didn't really think much of it, little ****ed off but not a big deal.

Anyway the second night they took every panel, bumpers, lights, wheels, brakes, and the diff cradle, he was left with the shell engine and gearbox, now if this hasn't ****ed him off enough they also broke into one of the sheds and took about 50 cat converters and all his power tools including the chargers.

He has now invested in some air tags and is in the process of imbedding them into some random gear around the place, I doubt if the cops will be included in the retrieval of the next lot of stuff that goes missing as they have been totally useless for the last 5 years.

Sensor lights yes, has had cameras, but they wear hoodies and even remove the cameras, he doesn't have the spare coin to spend huge dollars to buy a motion detecting camera system, and because they steal so much of the profitable stuff its getting harder.

I would be heading towards Rambo style dugout traps.

It was a common practice (among moored yachts) when we lived aboard on Brisbane Waters (NSW) to rig up a hinged drop down steel bar hidden under the bimini so when any unauthorized boarding would see the scumbag whacked heavily in the guts by this weight dropping down and knocking them into the water, after they had pulled the rope to lift themselves on board.

Living aboard we saw lots of late night dodgy fishing dinghy's mooching around moored boats sussing out what was onboard.
We ended up being the unofficial water neighbour hood watch for the local yachties. The waterways authority had no problem with us living on our mooring guarding the fleet (so to speak) even when it was regarded as illegal to do so.
